Unintended Sacrifices

You left my hand not the hopes

Your voice and that sweetness

melts me and my madness

Your foot steps still knocking my head

Oh gods take me instead

Hope is my lie

Can pigs fly?

I dust my eyes

pretending I didn't cry

just the dust perhaps

Why her? Why me?

You are the one I wanted the most

Right in front of me

I let you slip by

I killed the last hope and let you die

tears are tearing me down

your eyes still open, still believed

Even in the last moment, you didn't frown

Your My girl, oh beloved why didn't you hold

You are my scared star,

High and far

Yet your shine drowned me low

Why did you let go

You are my unintended sacrifice

You fell from the cliffs

You left my hand not the hopes

without you there exists no paradise

Am I breathing?

Without you who am I?

Louder than ever "I LOVE YOU" I said

my voice didn't reach outside my head

Your eyes still open with hope

I couldn't hold any further

My eyes shut, letting go of the last breath

Making me you

atlast.

This reads like a really emotional piece. The lines about love, loss, and that sense of helplessness really hit home. It makes you think about those times when you've let something precious slip away.
