He walks a path both dark and steep,

With weary eyes that long for sleep.

A heavy weight he cannot shed,

Each step a struggle, each breath like lead.

His body aches, his spirit worn,

In this battle, he's forlorn.

Fast food wrappers and empty cans,

The remnants of unhealthy plans.

The mirror shows what he can't deny,

A life lived fast, passing by.

Joints that creak and lungs that strain,

A heart that bears a silent pain.

A cycle of loss, of hidden pain.
