Unforgivably Me

Love in all colors

I don’t want to live in a world where I have to hide.

Why all the judgement? Why all the hate?

Why can’t I just be me?

Unmistakably, unforgivably me.

We all want to love and be loved,

no matter what that love looks like.

It can come in many shapes and colors,

and not one story is the same.

When I was younger, I played sports,

wore baggy clothes and never wore makeup.

For these reasons, I was labeled a lesbian.

People made me feel ashamed of who I was.

Years later, I grew boobs

and started dressing like a “girl”.

Putting on makeup everyday,

to appease the likes of others.

Why?

Why did I let comments from others,

change who I was as a person.

None of that stuff should matter.

I am me.

Sorry, not sorry.

Unmistakably, unforgivably me.

I will never forget that again.

Love yourself for who you are,

even if someone else doesn’t like it.

You are special and that matters.

You never have to hide.
