Under the shade of an umbrella

I sit and watch the world go by

Raindrops patter on the fabric

As people rush and hurry by

An umbrella is a refuge

From the storm that rages on

A shield from the wind and rain

That beats against the dawn

In winter it is a shelter

From the biting cold and sleet

In summer it's a parasol

To shield us from the heat

A rainbow of colors

On a gray and cloudy day

A symbol of protection

That keeps the rain at bay

It's a companion on the journey

Through life's unpredictable weather

A constant reminder

That we're never alone together

The umbrellas of our lives

May bend and break and tear

But we can always find another

To shield us from despair
