Comforting Thoughts

You call me on the phone

After a day filled with thoughts of you

We speak and we laugh and we feel less alone

I'm wrapped in a blanket

At home in your voice

I don't want to go

But it's not really my choice

There are things to do,

dreams to be had

But just to have met you

I'm so very glad

Sometimes when I'm glum

When I'm feeling cold and alone

I think about you

And that light that you own

Your arms are a blanket

Your love is an ocean

My love is in motion,

Always moving toward you

Thoughts of you

Far away in the West

Make me feel cozy

They make me the best

Although I'm not pining

I still see us as one

The thought that brings me comfort is

One day, under the sun.

love poems
