The God Within; poems by: Keith McHugh

"Unusual Friends" 11x14 Acrylic on canvas
Somehow I lost the way,
From divine love.
God looks down,
With a frown.
I'll try again.
Sits down,
Ponders how.
Calls to all creatures,
"Who will be my torch."
Love and loyalty abound,
The Dogs start to hound,
"We'll carry your love around."
Spreading over the ground,
Unconditionally perfect,
In every way.
The love of a dog,
Is God's way,
Showing his love
From so far away.

My cat lived with us first but then we decided to adopt a puppy. What fun it was watching how they both got along and played together. She, unfortunately, got sick and died first. He cried for days missing his feline friend.
