Uncommon ≠ Rare

I have always felt myself an enigmatic

I think most people feel that way.

It must be odd to not feel ordinary,

To feel extraordinary, if I may.

Sadly, to feel uncommon,

is not a rare enticing thought.

Most everyone thinks themselves a character,

in their story, as they ought.

There are few who are truly considered rare

in the test of each of our lives.

It’s something that happens naturally,

not attained by someone who strives.

The truly most uncommon thing,

happens to be someone who is themselves.

Someone who lays down the false image,

and someone who inside of themself delves.

To be a true rarity,

and not just an uncommon friend…

Lay down the people pleasing,

and learn to love your unique self again.
