“I know everything,”
he professes, though not
in quite so few words.
Oh, no, it’s with
many more comments
on many more topics.
He tells everyone how much he knows,
how wise he is,
again. Again. And again.
She listens and stares
out of the window
at the rolling waves of the sea.
Reminding herself
sitting at this fine table
with pure white linens
is why she tolerates him so.
Away from little siblings
dying of curable diseases
again. Again. And Again.
she’s on the seas
where their ashes were spread.
Yes. This is why.
This is why she tolerates him so.
