Unburdened

Some days are heavy reminders of mistakes made

a call to the bank and the credit bureaus, a form submitted to the FCPB,

a few hours sorting through stored items kept too long,

a few more posting listings online selling resin molds at $8 each,

but the letting go is easy now

the missing them is over

& I am freeing myself from all of it

unburdened by how they might feel about what I do.

Light, steady, and quietly triumphant—there’s something so freeing about this. The weight is gone, and so is the worry.

  • The sweet relief of unburdening.
