reminiscence dizzy with chalk rain runoff, touch teal strawberry rivulets bruising the concrete mashed wet against bare knees, scrabbling to bottle up lilac sunset chipped across fingernails

thunderclouds condensed in my chest indigo electric eminence heart beats a mottled rhythm, messy like my moms laughter when i tried to pronounce mauve my breath catching on the sharpness

i’ve seen translucent butterflies, perched prisms alluring innocence i am caught staring at the beauty of clear and left ruminating on empty space so sudden it cuts like glass

i refuse to die for just any assorted rainbow lay myself in a stream of sunlit gold kiss ashen half moons under my fingernails close my eyelids watch the ravens circling pupil black against this ultraviolet this violence i can feel right through the electroluminesence

can’t you?
