Uk Under the Spotlight of Deception

They speak in tongues of promise bold,

their voices smooth, their lies well told.

A banner raised for those in need,

yet pockets swell with silent greed.

The papers print what they approve,

a clever trick, a practiced move.

The scandals flicker, fade away,

erased before the break of day.

The laws are bent, the truths are spun,

a war is fought, yet nothing’s won.

The people beg, the prices climb,

they call it fate, they call it time.

A hand extends, a lifeline thin,

to pull you close, then reel you in.

And as you drown in their embrace,

they smile and speak of better days.

Trust none, for they are all the same,

playing with lives in a player’s game.

Fat cats get fatter, the poor die,

and the Palace allows it, why, oh why?

This is one way to describe politics and government. Good job.
