Silent tears escape, cascading tender flesh at night

learning the things that no-one teaches you

The awful things we do to make the head go quiet

the things that love demands a heart go through

A dream, the very things nightmares are crafted from

something make believe, we thought we had to have

Hidden in the dark and night is when they often come

the fragile dance a lifetime takes to choreograph

The stillness, a witness, participates in ghastly deeds

without a sound, encourages our next mistakes

Unwittingly has planted fates dramatic seeds

leaving us, sleepless, in a night that never wakes

The sound of water is the only get away

trickling down the sill, making its grand escape

Waiting for the release of darkness, with the light of day

Uiscefhuaraithe, Uiscefhuaraithe

(From the way he sings it, it sounds like ush ka ooh ra. I'm far from knowledgeable on the subject though. meaning: water cooled)

this is a cool concept. I appreciate the sound (e)scape imagery throughout this piece.

  • But what a get away it is. I love the sound of water on the window pane, of rain falling outside. (Not so much when it's falling inside, of course.)

  • This was so intense and powerful! Loved your poem!
