Two Years

A poem about the five senses

I feel you when I wiggle

My toes in

the grass

I hear you in the song birds

Nestled into

The trees

It’s been two years since I last

tasted you

within

I take deeper slower breaths

That bellow

louder

My heart pounds harder within

my chest like

a hug

I’ve forgotten how you smell

A scent lost

in time

I always look but you're

hidden from

plain sight

Now you're gone, I wonder

if you were

real

sad poetry
