Two Voices, One Choice—Follow the Mind or Hear Love’s Voice?

A Silent War of Heart and Brain—Who Will Heal, Who Brings Pain?

By PRABAL TR PROPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

The Battle Within: Heart vs. Mind

When the mind commands with iron might,

The heart retreats, lost in night.

Cold decisions, sharp and keen,

A world of logic, precise yet lean.

Numbers rise, the deals are sealed,

Yet warmth and kindness stay concealed.

Empires stand on towering pride,

But hearts within feel hollow inside.

Yet when the heart begins to lead,

It plants the most profound seed.

Soft whispers bloom where steel once lay,

Turning dusk to golden day.

Where reason once built rigid walls,

Love now gently, softly calls.

Hands entwine and souls embrace,

Filling life with warmth and grace.

The mind’s a guide—precise, secure,

But love’s embrace is deep and pure.

One must lead, yet both must stand,

A symphony played by heart and hand.

So weigh the scales, but let love shine,

For balance breeds a fate divine.

A world of wisdom, kind yet smart,

Where the mind is strong—yet ruled by heart.

Author’s Note:

In life’s ceaseless tug-of-war between logic and emotion, we often find ourselves torn between the practical wisdom of the mind and the compassion of the heart. This poem reminds us that true fulfillment isn’t about choosing one over the other—it’s about harmony. Intelligence builds paths, but love gives them purpose.

If you've ever struggled with heart vs. mind decision-making, remember: wisdom is strongest when guided by love.

You are so right on with this poem. Good job. The heart and brain go together like peanut butter and jelly. Two ways of thinking that work together. Good job.
