Two Hearts Beating As One

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

A minute was all it took and I knew

I’d made too many promises too soon

I never knew you were waiting for me

The way my heart has always waited for you

A minute was all it took and I knew

I’m paying a debt that will always be due

I never will get away, never will be free

From the promises I once vowed to keep

In a perfect world, baby, we’d be together

We’d never ever have to say good-bye

We could mean it when we said forever.

It’d be a perfect world, just you and me.

But a minute was all it took and I knew

We’d never see this love come true

We’ll never be all that we could be

Our perfect world will only be in our dreams.

In a perfect world, baby, we’d be together

We’d never ever have to say good-bye

We could mean it when we said forever.

It’d be a perfect world, just you and me.
