Two Bats, One Cave

Love And Misunderstanding

By Earl W. PearlPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

We first met at a dinner for four

Then decided we wanted much more

When we had our first date

We decided, it’s fate

Our relationship started to soar

And so this is the story I tell

You see, I was a “bat-out-of-hell”

Tho our union was odd

We were peas in a pod

And yet both of us managed to gel

I was riff, where the Mrs. was raff

She’s become what is my better half

Although we dress snooty

We’re more Tootie Frootie

We’re both batty and love a good laugh

While it’s true we’re “As blind as a bat”

And described as a night flying rat

In the fables that spread

There were lies being said

Like, we’re vampires and things such as that

Tho our vision’s a little bit blurred

It’s not true we’re the “Dracula bird”

We don’t like human blood

Since the taste is like crud

Don’t believe all the rumors you’ve heard

So we choose to stay home and behave

Spend our days hanging out in our cave

Despite all the stories

Forget all your worries

It’s the regal life both of us crave

love poems
