Sometimes words are
Given as divine gifts
Tussock was
One such
A simple plant
Long, rough grass
Clumped amidst dunes
Hugging shorelines
This day was the
Best day of my life
Flirting with waves
Chasing my toes
Dashing, laughing
As the sun went down
High above it all
I stood to watch
Hugging myself
Resistant to the
Icy caress of
Pacific winds
Flickering copper
Star fire extinguishing
Knowing this kind of
Beauty is why
Life is worth living
Turning towards reality
One last glance back
Wishing I was
Just grass so
I would never
Have to leave
.

.
One of the many benefits of a photography workshop is your friends take pictures of the picture taker. I hope these show the pure, unadulterated bliss of the most perfect day of my life.

Well-wrought, Aspen! To experience an aeon as a perennial grass in a paradise untouched by human endeavor might indeed be a blissful experience!
The free verse structure allows the imagery to flow organically, mirroring the motion of the waves and the natural rhythm of the shore. The line breaks enhance both the pacing and the sense of quiet wonder.
I wanna be grass too, and then wanna be eaten by cows, lol. Those photos are gorgeous!
Aw. Aren't you an adorable creature lass. Loved your words and those pics are hard not to smile and coo over, even got a cantankerous old fart like me. Beautiful lass.
A transportation to a beautiful moment through words 💜
