Laughter filled the watery trench
Splash
Splash
Questions arise in my mind
Whispers travel down my spine
Curiosity derailed my thought
Turning my head and my eyes
I witnessed a ghost perhaps?
Nothing was there but wind

I felt the warm body of another
Holding onto me with fear
Scared if they let go
It’ll end my year
Looking up at the man so strong
A tear befell my eye
Such beautifully green eyes he has
He asked “did you know that they say that trench is haunted?”
Speechless in his arms
I wipe away my tears
Burying my head in his chest
I say to this man with all my being
“How could you save me? I am a ghost after all.”
His last words to me before I disappeared was
“Even if you forget me a million times everyday. I will save you a million and one. Because everytime you see my turtle green eyes I know you love me all over again. So forgive me my love, for not saving you the one time it mattered.”
