Why do I not want to feel my breath,
Why am I not astonished by myself? How strange is this human death!
Seeking truth that's lost in stealth.
Will I rejoice or will I mourn,
At the end, When I'm torn?
Will I gain all or lose the most,
Will the tale remain a ghost?
I wove dreams of what I've seen,
But what lies where I've never been?
Are dreams just what my mind has caught,
Or something deeper like I've not sought?
In dreams, I asked, "Are you my kind? "
"Yes," They said, " But we are blind."
Who seeks dreams that can't be found,
In whispers lost, no echo, no sound?
What we've been shown, we claim to know,
But what of seeds we cannot sow?
Is there a force still out of sight,
Shaping the dark into its light?
All was here before we came,
We're the new ones in this game.
Hope, and despair- both fade to gray,
When all emotions drift away.
What remains when all is done,
When did the moon meet the sun?
Why do we call some beauty fair,
And mimic masks others wear?
Why I'm what I must be,
Bound by what I fail to see?
How can I know myself so vast,
When I'm haunted by my past?
We tell the world, "I'm not unique, "
Yet alone, "It's greatness we seek.
No one breaks their chains to fly
We all just fear to wonder why.
Why are my joys and deepest pains,
Rooted in other's fleeting cries?
Those I know don't know their face,
And those who know me, feel misplaced.
Experience charms with it's sweet lied,
A lovely truth in thin disguise.
Why are we here, amidst this lore?
Is this the, or something more?

It started off so beautifully, then I realise how much time it must’ve taken you, it’s indeed flawless, mesmerising in its rhythm and rhymes. Striking when you mention that we are mimicking the masks others wear, but oh how it needed to be said. This was incredibly good, I can see that you were in your zone in this one.
When I am haunted by my past? And the truth is I am really haunted by it. Your poem literally bought flashes of the days when my intuition used to poke me that maybe she is going to die and on my bday my bestfriend's mom...... Left us
