Trust is a funny thing.
It sneaks up on you,
then it disappears.
One second, you have it—
the next it's not there.
Trust is so funny
it will lie to your face,
when words and actions
are in two different places,
playing two different games.
Trust is built over time,
destroyed in the blink of an eye—
A poker face that hides
lie after lie after lie.
Trust is a fool,
an imaginary tool,
used to bind us to the illusion
that we have any clue
of what's really true.
Trust can be broken.
So what does it mean?
It may as well be
an empty line
in the dictionary.
