Truest Deception

a question of trust

By Ellen StedfeldPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

There came a youth with many faces,

his manners and his words were fair.

He swayed all lis'ners with his graces,

while hiding why he lingered there.

With careful truths he crafted lies,

yet lies belied a noblest cause.

When love emerged, with tearful sighs,

he spoke the words to give it pause.

One day, all secrets were revealed,

then joyfully, his lips unsealed.
