Do not abandon your family for temporary happiness.

In a world of temptation, sensation, and smoke and mirrors,

There are too few heroes to look up to. It's much easier,

And much more common,

late-night lifestyle and a rocky, multi-verse relationship.

It's cool to be skinny and sexy, mostly half-naked wraith.

It's so much easier to be an addict. To dance closer and closer to the fire.

But cooler doesn't give you the kind of respect that you need to be a hero.

But that doesn't mean that sort of beauty

And talent and unlimited funds and whatever

Will make it any easier for you than I had it.

Life's a bitch, girl. You've got to go out and kick ass.

And as long as kids love you,

Don't stop. And when they don't love you,

Just keep on anyway.

And don't drink and don't be lazy.

Because they're your boss.

I'm removed from my addiction and I get to see the glamour,

But at the end of the day,

I was a girl on the Lower East Side living like a rock star and

I needed to get the fuck out. And that's the truth. And that's what killed me. And that's what saved my life.

Don't swap your family for someone who makes you feel nice for a little bit.

Your real family is the people who love you

And understand you, and stand with you on the worst day of your life.

Once the temptation has passed,

You'll be stuck with the pain and the void of everything you've parted from.

Choose to stay. Decide to fight for the ones that count.

Choose to protect true love.

You don't have to damage the person who loves you in order to be happy.

Genuine and sincere happiness doesn't exist at the cost of someone else's heart.
