Cold is not the opposite of heat.

It’s the icy absence we call freezing.

❄️πŸ”₯❄️πŸ”₯❄️πŸ”₯❄️πŸ”₯❄️πŸ”₯❄️πŸ”₯

War doesn’t restore the land to peace.

It’s on its own path, causing death and disaster.

Darkness is not the flip side of light.

It has simply turned down the volume

A lessening creates the night.

Arrival, leaving does not necessarily precede.

Some things always have they been

And never, either can they leave.

Health isn’t a lack of doctor's visits.

It’s the freedom to eat, drink, and sleep without thinking,

to painlessly rebuild what keeps you going.

🩺❀️🫁 πŸ₯—πŸ₯›πŸ›Œ

Even the most cowardly is a hero to someone.

While I have stood in the face of danger,

Watching so-called β€œheroes”

turn their backs on me and run.

Grief is not Joy’s brother

He is a vicious and jealous lover,

hell bent, you will be had by no other

πŸ§ΏπŸ’”πŸ§ΏπŸ’”πŸ§ΏπŸ’”πŸ§ΏπŸ’”πŸ§ΏπŸ’”πŸ§ΏπŸ’”

So you've seen a hungry man eat,

Did he sate himself, or take a few bites

And save the rest to feed his offspring?

πŸ—πŸžπŸ₯¦πŸŒπŸšπŸ₯©πŸ—πŸžπŸ₯¦πŸŒπŸšπŸ₯©

Teach the foolish all the lies that you want.

The wise still riot in the streets

for their share of food and books.

Having an infinite supply creates

not an ounce of demand.

Some things not even the

richest can call up off-hand.

πŸͺžπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ€βœ¨πŸͺžπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ€βœ¨πŸͺžπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ€βœ¨

Every loss is not followed

by a sudden, inexplicable gain.

Sometimes it’s loss after loss

leading to a painful zero-sum end game.

I am only four lines in and I am already shooketh. I don't know how sensible a person could be, if they see war as anything else but a 'path causing death and disaster' 'a lessening creates the light' there's a lot of meaning in this line. Light is never absent. 'and never either can they leave' deep and tied up in mystery, yet the meaning dawned on me. My favourite part was when you went into it about the lack of doctors visit. We really are painlessly rebuilding what keeps us going. Hence eating whatever, whenever. Riot in the streets ~ their share of food and books 🀯 'Loss after loss.' A well needed sobering. This piece is not just a wake up call, it is somewhat of anthem. Nicely done, K.B. πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘ŒπŸΎβ€οΈ
