Tree

The love between a child and the tree outside her house.

By Loveofnight AndersonPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Boldly protruding out with all of its blossoming beauty

As it branches out toward the sky acknowledging its light.

In a flamboyant way it spreads its naked beauty

As it kisses the ground with its shade.

Since the days of old your presence has been known

As you peaceably let humans enjoy the meats of your ways.

Unable to cease your own destruction

You had to allow the slavery of your fruit.

As your branches sagged and your leaves wept

You felt the pain of them all.

So long ago I saw you clustered

So long ago I saw you free

My love, my friend, my tree
