Treasure-Seeking

Look through the lost and found

What you can find

On every street corner

Is not a rare jewel

Nor a sincere mourner

What you can find

At every farmer’s market

Is not worth its price a second glance

Or the brand name regarded

What you can find

At the bottom of a well

Is worth to a homeless crab

The same as a filled shell

What you can find

Among the garbage of the homeless

Is not the king’s reign

But a library now tomeless

What you can find

In the new sects

Are preachers and leaders

Of the wrong sex

What you won’t find

Here on the Earth

Is the treasure you seek

Valued beyond all worth.
