Trapped

A poem about a recent encounter...

By Rika LekayPublished 4 years ago 2 min read

***

Huh?

The portal's closed?

How will I return back?

***

Ha~ha!

Trying to escape are we?

You're in the real world now,

We don't care about art here!

***

W-what?

B-but?

***

Lost for words, eh?

This world is full of business,

We've got no time for ART.

All we got time for is business, politics...

And even sex... if we got time to fulfill that need.

***

No...

I know who you are...

***

Yes, you do!

It's time for me to play,

Because clearly you are desperate for help.

I mean, look at you?

***

You're...

Drained.

You've got no more creativity left in you.

You're failing at this game.

You're...

Trapped.

***

But...

I--

***

I wasn't done talking!

So, zip it!

Anyway, when will you break?

When will you stop showing compassion and empathy?

When will you stop being so... cute?

***

Look, I don't want to talk.

I just want to return to my--

***

Your imaginative world that you created?

Oh, my, how adorable of you!

This isn't a creative place, deary,

This is the real world.

***

I know but I--

***

Come on, cross the threshold!

I can't do it for you, but I can encourage you!

You're so close, girl.

I'm proud of you, but you gotta be more... rebellious.

Show no mercy, people don't care.

Discover the world, what normal people do for fun!

***

Normal people don't do art-related activities for fun,

They hang out with friends,

Go to bars,

Accomplish sexual desires,

Enter relationships and whatnot.

I could go on and on,

So, tell me... why aren't YOU doing any of these?

***

I don't have the time--

***

Oh, please!

"I don't have time, she says"

Ba~ha~ha

You do have time, darling,

You just choose to go the childish route,

Drawing, writing, singing, dancing, even playing video games!

***

Because that's fun for me,

I feel so tranquil and serene when I do these activities.

***

It's time I take over,

You've gotten delusional lately.

It's time for me to play,

And for me to be reborn into your reality.

***

Raven...

Don't!

***

Uhm? You mean...

"Raven, Yes!"

You don't get it,

I can tell you're suffering...

Working in retail.

I'm the only one who can save you now,

Like a phoenix...

I rise from the ashes!

As the dove disappears,

The phoenix always rises!

***

Additional Information:

I encountered Raven again as of recently. She always comes to my aid it seems whenever I'm working. It's because I'm always vulnerable at work. She has a sense that I'm unhappy, and feels the need to "put me back on track." Whatever she does, it seems to work.
