Trapped

In your sweet embrace

By Marissa BendickPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I’m trapped

Under your little body

While you sleep

Soundly and peacefully

I should have moved

Laundry to the dryer

two hours ago

But I was trapped

There are still thanksgiving day

Dishes in the sink

That need to be washed

But I am trapped

The floors need to be cleaned

The shelves need to be dusted

Dinner needs to be cooked

But I am trapped

I have to pee and I’m starving

I should get up

But I don’t want to wake you

So I am trapped

I love you, so deeply, so complete

And yes, things need to be done, but

You are my love and warmth, my sweet baby boy

So I choose to be trapped

love poems
