transparent

what's in a colour?

By Jay ShahPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Eye through the Mind through the Eye

What is my colour, what should it be?

Does it have an odour, that smells like thee?

It is dark, that is all I have ever seen,

It is black, for blind I have always been.

The skin is akin,

Through thick and thin,

A memory of time, what else could it be?

The eye is sublime, closes every three,

Seconds to hours, years to ages,

My colour is the memory of my wages,

Unified by air, we breathe through the same nose,

How can colour be fair? It is both, the blood and the rose.

The rainbow is an illusion,

For it can just be seen from afar, a delusion.

The only colour is transparent,

Of truth, equality, and justice prevalent.

See the brown, all that is around,

Do not frown, it is the whole town,

Light, dark, tall, short, and what not,

You are just a clown, do not wear the sad little crown,

Spread laughter, tears, anger, all you got,

Look through the mind, not the eye,

What lies behind, will never die,

It will breathe colour, even in the blind man’s odour,

It will teethe the squalor, even in mankind’s blind Hoder.

Just always take pride, pick the truest of sides,

All colour is no colour, it is just the eye that divides,

Let the mind see all colour,

The eye will smell and hear,

The only colour is transparent,

There is no colour, but pleasant.
