Heart Cracks

She threw him under the train tracks every chance she got,

but despite his heart cracks, he still loved her.

She defended terrible behavior in others,

and then told him he was being judgmental.

Hanging a towel in the shower was a great decision,

because now he could strategically cry with precision,

muffling his tears and stifling his shame.

He could pretend that the scalding water of the shower,

melted his skin like candle wax down, down the drain,

wishing that it'd be the last shower like this,

but then there was the next weekend,

where all the build up just came again and again.

Whew, this hit hard! I hope one day he finds gentleness, where he doesn’t have to cry in secret. Where the love he gives is finally the love he gets.✨

The cover art you've chosen is the stuff of nightmares!

  • Beautifully written… so tragic and all too common. ‘ She defended terrible behavior in others, and then told him he was being judgmental.’ Only one opinion… hers!!!
