The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion
Even when I do not want to go somewhere, I must go.
I fear anything happening if I am not there.
The worst instantly comes to mind and I could never cope without you being mine.
I think of all the terrible things that could occur.
And I know instantly it is something not for me to endure.
So I run and I run, fumbling to push my heel into my shoe.
Please, please, please. You cannot leave me before I do.

Great poem! I’ll stay with you until you get your heel in your shoe! Terrific work!
