Torpor

Apathetic

By Hannah AlexanderPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

Breaking news, alarming views, tattered shoes, the lives we lose.

Shocking thoughts, feelings fraught, lives are bought, all for nought.

Tears are shed, prayers in head, the breaths we dread, things left unsaid.

Then life repeats, it's in these streets, our shock defeats, blame the elites.

Their news distracts, forget the facts, their word subtracts, none can relax.

Torpor, complacence in horror,
Our lives are just torture,
But still we ignore more.

Torpor, apathetic in all ways,
Forget what they all say,
Straight faced through the craze.

Torpor, eyes masked with indifference,
And this is my inference,
That most do not believe that there will be deliverance.
