Torn Between Staying and Silence
A heart that loved without demand, yet feared to walk away

Even in dreams, we can't meet, no connection exists
What kind of relationship do we have with you, if not love.
These are the ones who appear in the guise of noble men —
But neither are they dust-streaked wanderers of the desert, nor wild in spirit.
You were never truly mine, nor kind in your ways —
And I, too, showed you no mercy or grace.
You could’ve asked if I ever meant to leave —
I loved you often, just lacked the strength to believe.
I still found joy in that gathering with you —
Though I never stood by your side, nor claimed I would too.
Theme
The poet stands at the edge of unspoken love — unwilling to beg for affection, yet unable to abandon the one he quietly cherishes. It’s a delicate struggle between pride and longing, presence and distance.
