Words From Way Back When

My life has taken its toll.

It has been scraped and beaten and viewed.

Many know not what to think of what I do.

I know how to please but do I want to?

I know how to jump but the height isn't a challenge.

I'm working on working well with others-

Not sure if it's a myth or that it could happen or

People are truly like that.

I want what others want me to

And do their bidding with a dutiful smile.

I think that I've lived a life that others can appreciate;

Though doing so I had little fun.

I'll show the world and my name will be known-

15 minutes of fame doesn't even make sense.

I will be what all want to be,

And in doing so maybe I shall find happiness-

Whatever that is.
