Together in Peace

Do you ever fall asleep to birdsong?

Each moment carries more weight with the joy of exertion

the dark, often frightening, closes in comfort.

cool blankets warm steadily against my skin and the light melts away

false suns seep through the blinds which hold the memory of day at bay, which grow in a trickle,

in a whirlwind, disjointed, disconnected uncontained, walls shrink amber rose while speaking, I speaking and the birds sing in lovely wrong -

Muscles tense and relax in concert, promise of cherished release.

hazy focus slips away with a unspoken whisper, lost to time,

space is soft like a feather which buffet my arms in a multitude of lilies which gray warmly, dulled birdsong heralds the close with golden bellies and faded black eyes which reflect the broken yellow lights holding the aware awake -

. . .

Sleep soundly little bird, your suns are lying to you, and together we sleep in peace let me sleep let me sleep together in peace tinted with slivers and with daybreak we will rise, and in harmony will we -
