To they, that overcome...

Afflicted soul, tormented heart,

Teared asunder, torn apart,

Reflected hatred, malicious spite,

Envious intent, power of night,

Downward spiral, life in gloom,

Destiny halted, impending doom,

Pleasure sought, to ease the pain,

For what its worth, and no greater gain,

Constant battle, wrestle back,

Power waning, strength to lack,

How and what, where and when,

Who and if, and even then?

Stronghold rooting, tried to cast aside,

Battle within, no hope to reside.

Sudden appearance, immediate change,

For how and what, mysterious, strange,

A story to tell, a testimony sought,

For the battle that was, and what the enemy wrought,

The struggle harsh, but not as bad as it seemed,

"I am no longer a slave! I am, redeemed!"
