To reap your love

A poem made of fragments of emotions

To reap your love

A collection of memories, a harvest of emotions

Taken from moments of love and devotion

Our first kiss, the first time you took my hand

And held it tight, so that I would not misunderstand!

I reap love, every time I picture your face

Every time I recall the sensation of being in your arms

It takes me to another place

Where you gather me in, and my heart it calms

A cull of feelings, being weird

Letting me stroke and kiss your beard

Collecting things that you've given me

Gifts, time, precious energy

Drawing faces on eggs and corks

A cornucopia of experiences, from drives to walks

We don't yield often, it means a lot when we do

And I want to return an abundance of love to you

Garnering kindness, shelter from the storm

I know in your golden fields I will always keep warm

♥️🖤Karen, I could sense the deep history of these harvested emotions. I like how you used the agricultural metaphor of reaping to create an atmosphere of love and intimacy. ♥️🖤I especially like the line about how this person nurtures your emotions and uses the memorable diction of "cull" to suggest a comforting gathering of your "weird" feelings. This acceptance leads to the beautiful, simple intimacy of letting you stroke and kiss their beard. This was such a revealing line.
