May you always recall the day we met
Mid month in June; my skies were so hazy
Of all flowers blooming, you could beget
You only saw me; an oxeye daisy
***
Simple and free like a breath of fresh air
My petals stood tall withstanding the rain
All weeds around me caused not one despair
Rooted in rich soil, combating the grain
***
With your ginger fingers and berry lips
You held me constant like a kiss of gold
Wedding bells rang causing flower eclipse
Planting seeds of morrow; low and behold
***
The most precious bud is said quite often
Under your nose; your senses must soften
