To Name a Moment

Just a poem; fragility

I am

Looking

But it takes something deeper than

Reading, something that makes poetry a sorrow

But this is not suffering

Its pain is far more beautiful than that,

Or have you never noticed

That no iceberg is cold?

Hold a glow inside you,

Someplace that is far more

Than mere mind.

Could it be sunlight on the leaves,

The ones that arch over you?

It could be the click of industry in your hands,

Brilliant as having night outside.

Rippling crystal could be it,

The aura of water on the cavern walls.

There is no containing

This

But let me show you what it looks like

The light is not just what I feel;

Here is my fire, giving not spreading

Here is my water, holding no trace but so much depth

My wind, invisible force

My earth.

The underside of leaves glittering

That shade like light, hinting at its gift to always be more

Every glow is sand,

Changing with the hourglass,

Every grain is still itself

Moments give no names

sad poetry

I got totally lost in the words, had to reread. So much depth in the nostalgia of your poem. Nicely done.
