In these trying times it’s hard to find

The peace of mind to sleep at night

News and articles sound like

We’re living in the end times

Yet in your precious face I see a light

A hope, something that’s worth the fight

So we keep trudging through

Praying we’re doing what’s right for you

For you we keep on staying home

To invites we keep saying ‘no’

Through tears of loneliness and the fear

That we’re burning bridges by staying here

Staying here, where it’s safe

Where we can feel okay

Knowing that you’re tucked away

From the chaos we live in today

Today we missed another event

Another memory we won’t get

So few photographs of meeting friends

So few places that you’ve been

But you’ve been happy and healthy

You’re more perfect than we could have dreamed

Much sweeter than we deserve, you see

For you, we’d sacrifice anything
