To My Mugs

whether sheltering my ginger tea-

or holding ice cream scoops-

you console me-

if I could drink from all of you at once I would-

a sip from Chucky-

a gulp from Aruba-

a drop from Rafiki's tree-

and a spoon from Rick and Morty-

as my hands brush over St. Thomas-

and I grip SOA

I want everyone to see all of you-

but not to touch-

because if one of you were to shatter, crack, or chip-

I'd be in pieces-

unfit to drink another beverage for as long as I live
