To Mom

You are your daughter's only huge inspiration; you are brave, tough, kind, compassionate, stubborn, messy, and beautiful. Whatever difficult situations arise, you handle them with ease, and that is something you've taught me. You taught me what was wrong and what was good, how to be courageous and bold, and how to become the person I am today.

When I think of you, a flurry of memories, both happy and unpleasant, flash through my head... You are the only world I've seen up to this point... and you've prepared me to face the world outside... I can't thank you enough for everything you've done... sometimes we fight, sometimes we are the best friends of all... and we fight to the point where I cry... but our love for each other never changes...

It took me 16 years to figure this out... Why would any girl need a fairy god mother when she has a lovely mother right beside her to draw her out of trouble...you are the one behind my voice...

For you, getting me to this stage in life, where I can pick what I do and not make mistakes, has been a tough challenge. You had so many obstacles in your life from the start, but you never let any of them affect me or my perspective on society; you made me aware of things that have a huge impact on people's lives while also assuring me that you would be there for me if I got myself into a mess; you are the wonderful being who made me worthy...

I may not always be the best, and I may make mistakes, but all you did was bring me close and made me realise what I was doing.. When you scolded me, I didn't realise you were expressing love... and now I see the sweetness in it... you make me feel secure and confident

 you taught me to be the person who can defend herself and give her all in anything she puts her heart into. You inspired me to pursue my aspirations, you saw my passion as your own, and you are the sweetest mother I've ever known.

All I have to say is that I love you, mum... Thank you for everything you've done for me.
