It’s easy to sink,
rather than swim.
The words pull me under.
I keep moving
adrift,
my mind torn asunder.
The water consumes,
hungry and starved.
Nothing left behind.
I pushed you away, kept you safe.
Yet you say, there’s no love in my eye.
The waves crashed,
a thunderous roar.
My words lost to the sea.
You stood, you watched,
didn’t hear.
I let the blue consume me.
Noises faded.
Emotions degraded.
Yet you say, I don’t feel.
Love eroded.
Heart corroded.
Yet you say, I don’t feel.
I sunk, I sunk,
despair.
The thoughts drowned me.
Push and pull,
a constant fight.
Souls drained empty.
Yet you said, I could never feel.
Words repeated.
Faith depleted.
I decided to swim free.
