To Better Living

We've lost ourselves somewhere.

To never learn the art of living well

Such a sadness consumes one to think of it

Be not consumed by the touch of the veil

Instead, leave behind a wonderful story people won't forget

-

Be about the now and for those that surround your life

Let go of childish aspirations and meaningless things

Be the first through the door and learn until becoming sharp as a knife

And be that person others know will answer when the phone rings

-

With all your heart and soul, give the special ones your love

Never forgetting your fondness for them when things go sour

Live a life that fits perfectly like a glove

And never give up being you, because that's your true power

-

Know where the pain comes from at night

Remembering not only the pain of loss when they are gone

Be not afraid to live with unending childish delight

And realize, to do so, it is not wrong

-

The deal of the day will always be the same

Whatever your grievances today, they will soon disappear

That is the nature of life, this often cruel and heartless game

But never forget to ignore that little voice, the devil in your ear

-

Be happy and fearless, if such things can be at once

And know what it is you're saying

Don't end up the dunce

Always remember, for you, someone is praying

-

Fear not the judgment of others, oh no

Some are forever unhappy and with their heads in the sand

Remember to enjoy this life of toil as you're always on the go

And remember that life gives what's earned, not what you demand

-

Be of minimal minds

Only have what matters

Forgive those of different kinds

Or in the end, we're all doomed to be dust that scatters

    More sage counsel, my friend.

This is some deep stuff. It makes me think about how I live my life. I try to focus on the now and not let little things get to me.
