A day spent at Belle Isand

Cross the tracks,

Not looking back,

Warm day,

Basket in hand,

Walking across the gentle land,

Sitting on the James,

Richmond's claim to fame,

Beautiful is the sun,

The fun having begun,

Soup,

Sandwiches,

Salad,

Iced tea,

Makes for a time filled with glee,

The wind on my face,

I long to visit Haxall Place,

The sweet breeze,

Boats on the river,

The buildings stand tall,

Sometimes it feels like fall,

The sun shimmers,

On the gentle waves,

I am feeling strong and brave,

Cupcakes I will eat,

Sitting here with this view,

Is such a treat,

Music in the air,

I wish there was more time to spare,

Here at Belle Island.
