To Be On A River With You

The only place that I’ve found home

By Asher FenixPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I’ve lived so many places

Calling each one of then home

But eventually I would leave

Like a drifter destined to roam

Never could I settle down

There was no place all my own

Living life on my accord

Broken I sit upon a sinners throne

Like a weary traveler

No longer could I lift my head

I was damaged beyond repair

And for my crime I had bled

And finally when all hope was lost

With a soul forever stained

Always I felt lost

And let myself be chained

I thought I’d wonder forever

And no one by my side

Then in this sleepy little town

We found our lives collide

And in this town you did show me

The thing I never thought I’d find

Like all along it was meant to be

Felt almost like it was designed

So on the river we did go

For we were off on my first time

I wasn’t sure what to expect

But the world felt quite sublime

As everything with our world

Continues to unwind

We can escape out to the river

And once again our stars aligned

To be with you out on the river

Was more home then I deserved

Abs with it all the good in me

Could finally be preserved

The only place I will call home

Is to be on the river with you

And if we face the world together

There’s nothing we can’t get through
