I wasted my time
loving you

what is true

something I misplaced

Someone
who broke my spirit
Set me up to settle
for one sided love
for his own benefit

Leading me to find
someone like you
Who only could
accept one sided love
to avoid facing himself

Loving you
wasn't a waste
It was a catalyst
for change
*
It was time well spent
*
Offering you something real
that you never truly felt

Your rejection offered me
an opportunity
to reclaim my value
and never again
settle for anything less
than what I'm offering
