Time to Reflect
Moondrops
I look up
and stop to pause
and reflect
on where I am
in my life and
I'm always amazed
to think that
you have
been up there
shining since the
fourth day of Creation
you shine down
on me during
your own reflection
casting sun's light
upon my face
as I pour out
my thoughts
cartwheeling
from my lips
floating into
the night air
little wisps
rising upwards
to the midnight
blue heavens
thank you for
keeping my
secrets safe
I'll meet you back here
tomorrow night

The Last Flame invited writers to sit with endings, using fire as a central image to consider what remains when something burns out: ash, warmth, memory, silence, or the faint promise of what comes next.
