Time-ticking

A Poem

By Meredith McLartyPublished about 7 hours ago 1 min read

I smile through gray skies

There's soft-spoken poetry on my tongue

and a song somersaulting in my heart

There's solace in gentle kisses

that flow through rivers and valleys

enticed by sexy, ravenous lips

that mend tattered bed sheets

of lonely dreams

I find beauty in things

I've never noticed before

I'm tying up loose ends

and unraveling rows of stubborn knots

in yarn from yesterday's projects

Laced fingers enrapture the sands of time

Nails and skin that cling to

what used to be a fog

but now is a solid timepiece

that beats forever in our warm, sultry hands

It's baron wasteland of ideas

got lost in the fire

of truth, passion and creativity
