Time Is The Crime

Love Is Its Weapon

nursery rhymes and blurry lines

sad songs on repeat

red flags wave like warning signs

in the middle of the street

*

distant smiles and hollow eyes

a new direction, gaze

the many lies that soon devise

a heart engulfed in flames

*

roses soused and stagnate

remnants of celebrations past

languish and deteriorate

like love, that couldn't last

*

faded, brittle and broken

petals shatter as they fall

void now, as words were spoken

loves response to youths last call

*

a beauty unlike another

a victim in the hands of time

biding calm, like it was a buffer

ravaging, without committing any crime

heartbreak

Quite the sad way of looking at the passage of time, but beautiful and makes you appreciate the beauty while it lasts.

  • Petals falling from the stem to join the earth & be born again.
