Time is a thing with feathers
fluttering overhead.
I stretch my limbs to catch it,
and tumble out of bed.
Time is a thief with feathers-
come to steal from me like geese-
devouring the seconds
I drop at my feet.
Time is a bully with feathers-
mocking me like a seagull,
and when I try planning ahead
he scoffs like one so regal.
Time is a vandal with feathers-
dive-bombing on my past
like a pelican swallowing
the present way too fast.
Time is a stalker with feathers-
looming over every door,
and when I look behind me
like the Raven, it crows "Nevermore!"
Time is the thing with feathers-
circling me with anticipation,
like vultures hungrily awaiting
the death of my motivation.

This description of time as various feathered entities is really creative. It makes me think about how we often feel time slipping away. Have you ever felt like time was being a "thief" as described here? It's a unique way to view our relationship with time. I like how it personifies time in different, almost menacing ways. It makes me wonder if there are other ways you could use this concept to explore how time affects our daily lives. Maybe in a story or a poem?
